How ISSA and distribution work together to strengthen an industry. BY JEFF CROSS, MEDIA DIRECTOR 100 Years of Supply and Dem For this arti cle, ISSA reached out to several distributi on com-panies, especially those involved in buying groups, to discuss the ISSA/supply chain relati onship and what it takes to succeed in an evolving distributi on landscape and increasingly competi -ti ve environment. I 16 SSA, the worldwide cleaning industry associati on, was founded on distributi on. ISSA grew with distributi on. And while ISSA values all its member classes, distributi on remains close to the heart of the associati on as it recognizes its 100-year anniversary in 2023 and looks forward to the next 100 years. It was a group of seven distributors who started it all in 1923, and from there, ISSA has grown into a global industry associa-ti on with more than 10,500 member organizati ons. Moving equipment, tools, products, and more from manu-facturers to end users falls under the distributi on and supply chain umbrella. When the supply chain has a weak or broken link, everyone is aff ected. Systems fail. Cleaning eff ecti veness suff ers. The role of the distributi on professional is criti cal to the ongoing success of the global cleaning industry.
